SeNSS would like to thank Alan for his enormous contribution, from the initial bid to stepping in as Director last year, to his incredibly hard work on training, leading the Training, Employability and Development (TED) group, the virtual learning environment (VLE), the Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and every funding competition. SeNSS has been shaped by Alan’s constructive and critical eye, and our student events have been made joyous through his interest in, and enthusiasm for, postgraduate projects and the people undertaking them.

Fragkiskos said of his appointment, ‘I am delighted to have been appointed Deputy Director for the South East Network for Social Sciences. I look forward to working with colleagues across the doctoral training partnership to strengthen the training provision for doctoral students and supervisors, but also to engage with our external collaborators to enhance the employability of our doctoral students, and to deliver impactful research that will put social sciences at the forefront of global challenges.’

Prof Pamela Cox, SeNSS Director, said, ‘I’d like to offer sincere thanks to Alan for everything he’s done for the SeNSS community. We’re looking forward to working with Fragkiskos in the coming months, particularly around ways of improving the post-PhD career prospects of our researchers.’
