Business Collaboration Fund

The University of Essex welcomes prompt applications from academic Early Career Researchers, for grants of up to £5,000, to enable business collaboration projects.

This fund was open to academic staff, who define themselves as Early Career Researchers, working in areas eligible for ESRC funding from across the SeNSS institutions.

The funding covered directly incurred costs of working with a business, including staff time. Some potential uses of the fund could have include, but were not limited to:

  • Co-produced projects/activity which support the growth of the business.

  • Working with the business to share best practice.

  • Sharing of data and expertise with the business for the wider benefit of the business.

The main aim of Business Collaboration Fund was to ensure the development of partnerships between researchers and businesses. The fund was utilised as a flexible means to enable the building of relationships between researchers and the business involved. These collaborations also enabled the researcher to develop their skills and knowledge required to work with businesses in the future.

Projects were undertaken and completed by 31st August 2021, see below video case studies of two projects that were funded.
